چکیده
Madelung's deformity (MD) occurs as a result of premature closure the medial and volar aspects distal radial physis.1 It is more frequent severe in girls, usually develops middle/late childhood.2 MD one most characteristic features he short-stature homeobox gene (SHOX) deficiency, which causes short stature3. Radial bowing well-known radiological futures. On other hand, there are three typical sign hand radiograph for SHOX deficiency; triangularization, pyramidalization os lunatum, radiolucency at radius4.
In evaluation 9-year-old girl who was investigated precocious puberty, her height measurement 18th percentile. wrist X-ray taken determination bone age patient, an appearance compatible with (Figure 1). genetic studies patient MD, normal female karyotyping (46, XX) demonstrated by Trypsin G banding Technique. Heterozygous deletion detected Fluorescence Situ Hybridization technique using probe specific to region (Xp22.33).
Interpreting direct important recognizing MD. Thus, it will be easier detect etiology stature patients this deformity.

Objective evaluation of cervical vertebral bone age' its reliability in comparison with hand-wrist bone age: by TW3 method.
AIM The aim of this study was to establish the validity of a new method for evaluating skeletal maturation by assessing the 3rd and 4th cervical vertebrae seen in the cephalometric radiograph. MATERIALS AND METHODS This study consisted of a sample of 50 patients in the age group of 8 to 14 years of age. Chronologically, they were divided into six groups, based on the age consisting of a minim...

متن کاملSkeletal Deformity Associated with SHOX Deficiency
SHOX haploinsufficiency due to mutations in the coding exons or microdeletions involving the coding exons and/or the enhancer regions accounts for approximately 80% and 2-16% of genetic causes of Leri-Weill dyschondrosteosis and idiopathic short stature, respectively. The most characteristic feature in patients with SHOX deficiency is Madelung deformity, a cluster of anatomical changes in the w...
